Kitchen Reveal

Hello everyone! We have officially moved into our kitchen & are ready to share it with you!

Here is quick look at what we where dealing with in the beginning:

Here is the new & improved version:

Everything is almost in it's place. The minimal upper cabinets have been so nice. It opens up the room and allows the counter tops to really shine and for us to have "more space" to work. Cooking in here is a breeze and I love to cook now that it's all new and clean.

We still plan to add a few more decorative shelves on both sides of the windows. The window sill is new and I love it, but I am not crazy about those flowers, I think I am going to buy a few small ceramic vases and maybe off set it with a potted succulent, like this one. We also still need to decide on a curtain or shade but I will leave for another day. Below is my favorite part of the lovely door.

Before, During, and After:

FYI to those thinking of remodeling your kitchen...BEWARE:

All of your other house hold chores are put on hold. You where pajamas to the hardware store daily. You prefer pizza over any other type of food and you know your delivery man by first-name-basis. You stay late at your day job to avoid going home to do manual labor. Your bathroom will become a washroom, coffee station, kitchen sink, as well as the place you take your paint brushes to rinse them out. Not cool. I think my bathroom needs a face lift after all it has seen in the past few months!

All this is true, plus some, but the reward is much more than all of the above. We love our kitchen and would do it again in a heart-beat...just don't ask us to come help with yours.

  1. I don't know where to begin b/c there are so many elements I'm drooling over!
cabinets & countertops: Call me biased b/c ours are a similar color but WOW! They look so sleek and high-end!
beadboard: LOVE. It just add so much interest and brightness to the space.
    wallpaper: sooo pretty
light & door handle: vintage and marvelous, can't go wrong there.

This is just AH-mazing! Enjoy your new kitchen =)
(I can relate to the difficulty of living in the midst of a reno.)

2.! Just beautiful! You must feel like a new person! Its so...perfect, and clean, and white and fresh and lovely! Gorgeous! AND it has almost exactly the same layout (and appears almost the same size!) as the kitchen in my new house...Yay it would seem there is room for an island after all! Totally inspirational!

  3. Beautiful job! Everything looks polished yet it has a warm cozy feeling to it as well. It's a kitchen I would love to hang out in.

    Will you come do mine?:)

  4. How did I miss this post?? Your new kitchen looks fantastic! So crisp and fresh. Love all the vintage touches...the schoolhouse lights, the beadboard, the wallpaper. You've done a fantastic job.

  5. ooh la la. I love it. I love the overall feeling you achieved.

  6. Looks great! Love that little birdie doorknob. But hot damn that cabinet to the left of the sink is high! I hope you store stuff in there you'll never use (unless you're 8 feet tall)...

  7. Thank you for all your wonderful compliments! We love the kitchen and can't wait to start on our upstairs bathroom next!

Morgan, the cabinet on the left of the sink is very high and I am very short! We are going to put a shelf under that cabinet someday...I still have to find a metal bracket I like. Once that is complete the left side of the sink will look much prettier.

    Thanks for stopping by everyone!

  8. How vintage and beautiful! I especially like the birdy doorknob~adorable!

  9. Very nice makeover. And LOVE that doorknob!! :-)

We've never done a kitchen makeover, but we did a bathroom makeover about 9 years ago. Put it this way -- it's easier to do kitchen things in a bathroom sink than bathroom things in a kitchen sink!! ;-)

Good luck with your next reno :-)

  10. Wow, it looks great! I can relate to having your whole life change during a renovation (we just got done with our kitchen too). Love the sleek white cabinets. And that bird doorknob is adorable. Good job!

  11. That is so beautiful. I must admit I am a little jealous of your 1920's house :) To feel such history must be amazing.

  12. I love it. The light cabinets & beadboard with the dark counter. I also the the height of you beadboard. Your fixtures. I love it all. You guys did such an amazing job.
